Q&A

i see some questions...time for some answers!

how much did i spend for my 2 wk trip?

about 3k++ on air ticket, rail pass and (decent enough) accomodation. if inclusive of shopping expenses...then...hmm...let's not go there. :P

actually, it's possible to tour europe cheaply. hostels r usu comfy enough, and if there's a kitchen u can save on food by cooking your own meals (either bring instant noodles n canned food from home or buy from supermart there). from personal experience, 4 is the best number of pple to travel together, coz 1stly, can save on accomodation, and 2ndly can play card games on long train rides. :) also the 4 of u can implement a buddy system to take care of each other (and belongings). 4 is not too big a group, so moving around is not difficult; neither is it too small a group - hanging out together in a foreign land is much safer with 3 friends than with 2 or 1.

when travelling in france (or anywhere for that matter), if u do buy train tickets, check your tickets at the counter when u buy them. check that the ticket is for the correct number of adults, to the correct destination. it's better to be extra sure (and endure the stares of impatient counter crew and people queueing behind), than find out just before boarding the train that there's something wrong with your ticket (which happened to me, and that was NOT a wonderful experience).

just thot i'd share some tips with ya...if u have any, feel free to share them with me and the other visitors of this blog k? always a pleasure to chat about travel... ;)

What camera did i use?

my pics are taken with Panasonic Lumix FX01...i'm no guru at photography, just pick up tips and skills along the way from experience and by (secretly) learning from the professionals. but i must say this camera can reallie capture the rich colours of beautiful scenaries, and the best thing about it is it's wide angle lens, which allows u to take more into a picture. this feature is especially useful when u wanna take a panoramic picture or one of a big monument or building.

wow..can see that u put alot of consideration into ur travels..

personally, havin 3 companions is probly my max limit. unless u're all in sync abt concept of travel & interests, it might get unpleasant sometimes. =)

my aunt told me horror stories abt France's train station & svc staffs as well..haha..

yup! wide angle lens gives u tt extra bit when u need it (i'm using Panasonic TX2 =). proved to be more useful than tele-zoom during my recent trip to Japan.

Haha I used to travel in Europe with 40 odd people...coz it's a school history trip :p To be honest, think going for tours with friends can be a new experience as u tend to discover new things about them. The same applies for couples too :D

hey jiaxin,

i remember u! :)

agree totally that the friends u choose to travel with are v impt. if u n ur friends do not see eye to eye on the aim of travel, it'll affect not only the trip, but also your friendship. i've seen a number of instances where good friends set off for a trip together and come back not talking at all...sad...

hi peifen! first time commenting on your blog... are you still working at 933? Someone told me that you're working at 100.3FM, is that true?

i have not listened to radio much after yin yue ri ji ended... so sad... wonder if there're any plans to bring it back? is it permanently gone or maybe it might be revived in future? why was it cancelled in the first place since it was so popular?

btw as far as i remember, you were the host of yin yue ri ji... were you there when it started? when was the first episode?

hope you answer my questions, and glad you had a good time in france!

hi peifen! this is with regards to moderating spamming comments from Jackie Tan. i think u can try going to the 'settings' tab on your account, then click 'Comments'. there's a section called 'Enable comment moderation?', maybe thru this u can moderate comments and block the unwanted ones. if u want more info abt this feature, u can click on the '?' tab beside the 'yes-no' option. i havent tried this before but hope this helps to solve your problem in DTF's world blog!

Do feedback to me whether this works so i can learn from this too! :)

Hi Peifen! Ya Panasonic has a good range of compact cameras. For those camera gimmicks, we strongly believe Panasonic compact do provides sharper images compare to other brand, all the thanks to their Leica lens.

So envy you, can go so many places around the world, how I wish I can do that as well, viewing the whole world under my camera viewfinder.

you have cute yuan yuan and snuggie. This reminds me of my passed away Wacky(doggy) and Xie Dai(aka shoe dumb, cuz find him inside a shoe box when he is still a baby kitten), missed them badly, oh ya, your woolfy is also cute, think i want to add it inside my blog too.

Peifen, Jia You oh! Ni hen BANG!
